Al-Hilal have targeted Nicolò Barella to reinforce their squad ahead of the Club World Cup and are ready to offer the Inter midfielder €35 million per season to tempt him away from San Siro.
The Arabian champions are currently fighting to win back-to-back league titles, sitting four points behind leaders Al-Ittihad. However, their focus is already shifting to FIFA’s newly established competition, where Jorge Jesus’ side has been drawn alongside Real Madrid and Salzburg in the group stage.
The club’s board has reportedly decided to make a significant investment in a player at his peak to enhance their competitiveness ahead of the tournament, taking advantage of the transfer window scheduled for early June.
Al-Hilal ready to lure Barella from Inter with €35m-per-year deal
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Barella is among the top names on Al-Hilal’s shortlist, with the club willing to invest a significant portion of their savings from Neymar’s departure.
The Italian newspaper adds that the Arabian powerhouse had already shown interest in the Italy international in January, when they considered luring him away with a contract worth €18m per year. However, they are now reportedly ready to nearly double that figure to €35m, with an official offer potentially arriving in the coming weeks.

Despite the lucrative deal, Barella is said to be fully committed to Inter, having recently signed a contract extension until 2029. His strong ties to the club and the city of Milan, along with his desire to continue competing at the highest level, make a departure highly unlikely.
