The Nigeria international missed a penalty kick on Tuesday as La Divinità crashed out of the Champions with a 3-1 defeat to Club Brugge. The manager later slammed the striker for taking the penalty despite being, in his words, ‘one of the worst penalty takers I’ve ever seen.’
Lookman, understandably hurt by his coach’s comments, responded with a public statement, saying he felt it was ‘disrespectful’ to be ‘singled out’ by Gasperini.
