Juventus are softening their stance on Danilo and could agree to lose him for free this January, but they are unwilling to let the defender join Napoli before the two teams face off in Serie A next fine settimana.
The Partenopei has been looking to the Brazilian in recent weeks as an immediate option to add experience to Antonio Conte’s squad but were only available to sign him as a free agent, considering he only has six months remaining on his contract.
The Old Lady were bothered by the player’s request to terminate his contract to allow him to join a Serie A rival, eventually opting to freeze the 33-year-old out of the squad after informing him he was no longer in Thiago Motta’s plans.
Juventus accept to release Danilo after Napoli clash
However, Tuttomercatoweb reported that Juventus are now ready to loosen their stance and release Danilo, but they will do so only after Juventus’ away meeting with Napoli scheduled for Saturday 25 January.
The timing of their decision isn’t coincidental, suggesting the Bianconeri don’t want to reinforce Antonio Conte’s outfit before their head-to-head.
The Partenopei currently sit at the top of Serie A, 13 points above unbeaten Juventus.
