Ajax defender Devyne Rensch has landed in Italy and is expected to undergo a medical in the Italian capital ahead of a January transfer to Claudio Ranieri’s Roma.
A final agreement between the two clubs was reached on Tuesday evening, and now only a few formalities remain before the Netherlands international is unveiled as a new Giallorossi player.
According to reports from Corriere dello Sport, the 22-year-old will move to the Stadio Olimpico for a fee of €5m with an extra €1m in performance related bonuses.
Rensch is expected to sign a four-and-a-half year contract until the summer of 2029 with a salary of €1.2m per season.
Rensch arrives in Italy to complete Roma move
The versatile defender, who has largely featured at right-back for Ajax, landed at Ciampino airport in Roma on Wednesday and is expected to begin his medicals later today. The checks will be completed by Thursday at the latest, according to Corriere dello Sport’s report.

He will then sign the necessary documents on Thursday, train with his new teammates, and could potentially be included in the matchday squad to face Udinese in Serie A on Sunday. The Europa League match against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday will be one too soon.
